Guest Post #1: Adam Hoffman, Chicago

On our trip, we felt that we should incorporate the perspectives both of the travelers and of those lucky enough to host us, feed us, and drive us around. Thus, behold our first guest post from our Chicago tour guide - the one and only Adam Hoffman:

"I got word from Kim on Saturday night that a small band of merry travelers had arrived in Chicago. I had a hands-down stellar time with them Sunday and I hope I was a passable guide--although obviously outdone by Brooke and Google Maps. A couple thoughts stand out:

If you stand in the right places (Daley Plaza, the roof of the Art Institute), Chicago looks like a big city. Compared to New York, it is adorable.

A traffic cop sincerely and repeatedly apologized for making us wait to cross Michigan Avenue.

You picked a great time to visit--not only the tiny slice of the year between winter and humidity--but the time in our history between building all sorts of neat stuff and going bankrupt. Everyone should visit right away (and because, as Jezza pointed out, it gets lonely in the Midwest).

It was totally worth staying up past my bedtime.

Safe travels and have a great trip.

Adam"
